What happens on the day

No mystery, no mess.

You ring, we give you a day

No answering service, no ticket. You get a person, a price and a day that suits the truck and suits you.

Nobody knows where the lid is. That is fine

Half the jobs start with a probe and a shovel. If the lid has been buried since the eighties, we will still find it.

The tank goes out, not the lawn

Hose run from the truck, tank vacuumed down, sludge and crust taken with it. Boards down if the ground is soft.

You get told what we saw

Cracked baffle, roots in the inlet, a lid on its last legs. You hear it while we are standing over it, not in a letter.

The paperwork follows the load

Tipped at a licensed facility, recorded, and available to you if a council or a buyer ever asks where it went.

The lid goes back properly

Seated, weighted, and safe to walk over. That last part matters more than anything else on this list.

Not the same as the next truck

What you actually get with Southern.

Straight answers

The questions we get asked most.

How often should a septic tank be pumped?
For most households it is every three to five years, and it depends on tank size and how many people live there. If it has been longer than five years, or you have just moved in and nobody can tell you when it was last done, book it.
How do I know if mine needs doing?
Slow drains through the whole house, gurgling, a smell near the tank, or wet ground and greener grass over the trench. Any of those means ring, do not wait.
Do you need to find the lid, or do I?
We can find it. If you know where it is, tell us and we are faster. If nobody has looked in twenty years, that is a normal job for us.
Can the truck get to my tank?
Usually. Tell us if the tank is behind a locked gate, down a steep drive, or more than about thirty metres from where a truck can park, and we will bring the right hose.
What happens to the waste?
It goes to a licensed facility and it is documented. Ask for the docket any time you want it.
How often does a grease trap need doing?
Most kitchens run somewhere between monthly and quarterly, and your council sets the minimum. We will tell you honestly if you are paying for visits you do not need.
How much does it cost?
It depends on tank size, access and how long it has been. Ring (02) 6284 2333 with your address and you get a real number, not a range.
Book it in

Book it while it is still a job, not an emergency.

Ring (02) 6284 2333 and speak to someone, or leave your details and get a call back.

We read every one of these. If it is urgent, ring instead — it is faster.
